What will we read?

Discover a recent Polish novel highly appreciated by readers in Poland.

We’ll be reading a real book written for native Polish speakers — "Pomiędzy kłamstwami" by Maja Drozd. It’s a novel set in Warsaw during the Second World War. But don’t worry — even if you’re not a fan of historical fiction, you won’t be bored. The author draws readers into the complex and emotional story of a Polish woman and a German officer. Full of plot twists, powerful emotions, and hidden truths, this novel will immerse you in Polish history and culture — and you may find it impossible to put down. Honestly, is there a better way to learn a language?

How does it work?

  • When you enroll in the course, you’ll receive the book. You can either purchase your own copy or ask me to send you a PDF version, which you’ll receive by email.

  • We’ll meet online every Wednesday at 5 PM (Polish time) — please make sure to check your time zone. The course begins on March 11th. Before the first meeting, you’ll receive the Zoom link and all the necessary information by email.

  • During our sessions, we’ll discuss everything related to the book — your thoughts, questions, reflections, and anything else you’d like to share. We’ll also have a WhatsApp group where you can exchange ideas and stay connected with other students in the course.

  • After each meeting, you’ll find exercises for the following session on the platform. For each class, you’ll be expected to read around 20 pages of the book and complete the vocabulary and grammar exercises.
